Workshops

Parent-Child Language Play Group

This 5 week program runs for 1.5 hours each week. It is a structured play group and is based around various early language strategies and techniques which are presented to parents while interacting with their child in the form of a small group play setting. Various play stations are set up and parents rotate through the various activities with their child while the Speech-Language Pathologists consult and help facilitate early language skills to
enhance communication.

Various games, toys, and activities are presented with a variety of new ideas introduced each week. A structured circle time with songs and books are also used to demonstrate how to encourage language through the use of reading and music. Snack time is also built into the session in order to incorporate natural daily routines into language learning. A different parent will facilitate the snack time routine each week in order to model language to the children in the group.

Maximum enrollment is 4 children and their parents/guardians through the guidance of 2 Speech-Language Pathologists who facilitate the program.
